Yeah, somebody please come on with some information. I heard all kinds of stories at the track, but no officials would talk about it. Just concerned and hopeful that he's "OK."

I believe out of respect for the injured riders privacy you will not hear much until the rider himself, friend, or family make a post.

I went back to the track today to watch some, and the news I heard was a "shattered" leg. Still unofficial, but I heard that from a couple of different ppl.

Either way, whoever he was, our thoughts are with him. I'd rather find out it was a shattered leg than something more permanent.

Hi Guys, I am the rider Airlifted out of RA on Saturday. I am fine, no broken bones, just got my bell rung. I feel like I was playing football without pads. I don't remember anything after the 2nd call for advanced riders so I can't help you avoid what I did. Obviously the emergency crews did a great job ensuring I got the right care! Sorry for wrecking the rest of your Saturday afternoon. Thanks to the NESBA team and Brian Johnson for setting up a great weekend and having the right crews on hand to keep us safe! See you sometime in the future.

Hey Paul, thanks for responding with the relatively "good" news. Bad enough, but I'm sure we are all relieved that it was not worse. Hope you're out of the hospital soon and back on the track. Keep us updated on your recovery.

Frank

Paul, very glad you're alright. Don't even think twice about the lost time at the end of the day. We were all worried about ya, so I know everybody will happily trade their last twenty minutes of track time for you being OK.

And let me just point out that the "shattered leg" rumor, or any like it, is exactly why we don't say anything about somebody's medical condition. If I told somebody he got a splinter, the next thing circulating the paddock would be that the guy was dead.

Glad to hear you're OK Paul. We are all glad. Hope that chopper flight isn't too painful on your wallet. Yikes!

Paul, good to hear you are okay. No need for the apology. I am sure everyone wanted to hear that you were okay. We all get yet another day to ride. God speed on your recovery my friend.

Paul, That is GREAT news.. A lot of us were worried! Hope to see you back out there sometime soon!

Brian, I wasn't trying to spread rumors.. Just posting what I heard in the pits.. I clarified that that was all it was... Just a rumor...

Thanks for a great event by the way... NESBA did a great job as usual.. Hats off to you and the crew!

AshTrey,

No big deal. I was really just making the point that that's the reason we (i.e. NESBA) don't pass medical info along. Most of the time, the only info I get is the same misinformation everybody else gets.

Glad your okay man, we were worried about you.

As for "rumors" a freind who was camping at the track told me Sunday morning that the rider was ok, that he was up and under his own power before the helicopter ride. Concussion is the rumor I heard. Very glad it turned out to be true.

Thanks to everyone for all the support! I flew to Greenville Hospital 'cause I live in Greenville. They took a CT scan of my head and neck - didn't find anything. I could have told them that! They let me come home Saturday evening. Now I'm just taking it easy at home and taking vacation Monday. I probably got home before you guys.

I don't even have any bruises (except my ego). The bike is in pretty good shape too. The left side is scuffed and a couple of Dzus fasteners need to be replaced but no major damage. The tires on the left side are both sliding out to the edge.

Did anyone see what happened? I'd like to know so I can avoid this in the future. I really can't remember any of that session. What lap was it? I heard it was in turn 4 - one of my favorite corners. If you saw my crash please call or e-mail me. Thanks again to all of you!

Glad you're doing OK Paul. You were running pretty well out there, it was real challenge finding a way past.

Glad to hear you are o.k.! It really was a weird day in A...I think we were stopped in three different sessions. The second to last session this guy crashed right in front of me...riding balls out on the out lap. Green kaw...looked like an older ZX9 or something. I just don't understand..even with warmers and such...why anyone would go wide open on the first lap.

It's good for that guy I did not run your butt over!!!!!!!!! Glad again to hear you are o.k. dude! It really was a strange feeling to see you laying there motionless.

Errr, that was me on the bouncing green 600!!

For some reason that I can't explain, that seemed like a perfectly reasonable pace, right up until I go spit off!

I remember thinking, "Why are these guys going so slow"?!?!? Duohhh!

Dumb move on my part, just glad I didn't collect anyone else on the way out! Thanks for not running me over!!!

The weird part is that I believe was talking to Paul about my crash, and he said something to my buddy about how he never crashes on the track! Next session, WAM!!!

Glad you're alright man!

I think had you taken it easy the first lap or two it would have been very difficult to pass (me!) after that!!!

It really looked like you lost the rear...were your tires gone???

Nope tires were fine, brain was on pause!

Purely a case of ham fisted throttle application, like I said, dumb!

I'll look for you at VIR in July!

On the second lap!

Well I was behind you when you wiped and it was crazy because it looked like a dirt bomb explosion. I could tell immediately when I looked over at you that it knocked you out because you were rolling very limply. I am glad you were ok, that would have bothered me seeing it happen and you being hurt badly.

It looked like you lost the rear on the left hander going down the esses. The rear passed the front and your bike was actually facing me sliding backwards down the hill.

I am glad you are ok! Road Atl will bite so you have to be careful where you push it because it scares the hell out of me.

BTW I was on a Black/Silver Attack scheme ZX10R

I walked the track where Mike went off. There's a little bump of dirt (like a dirt step up). It's all hard packed dirt except this 5 foot section of very soft, pulverized powder. That's where Mike hit it and flipped over. That's a hard impact and that little dirt step doesn't need to be there. It's a couple of feet into the grass. Glad you're okay Mike!
