I wave at everybody. Having seen the pics, I'll be more understanding why they don't wave back...IP: Logged |

Notice that in the second picture the front tire has completely stopped turning as it had been levered off the ground. He chose poorly ......
Also notice .... after the "smart" Motorcycle ejected the foolish rider" the wheel is turning again.
I wonder how far it ghost-rode ?
Are these from kill-boy ?

That's why Harleys should just sit at the local bar and look pretty. They weren't made to go through switchbacks like that. In the first picture you can see that his right side floorboard is already touching and he's not that far leaned over. He's just going way too fast for the limitations of the bike. ------------------ Jim Broken, then fixed, now healing and battling to get back out there! :) #10 ADVANCED!! A friend pick them up from the TL site I think. He was busting my chops. I had a guy recently on a similar bike during a MSF class that I was teaching, he grabbed a handful of front brake while he was doing a swerve and lock the front brake and came down hard. Ouch! I mean no offense to any harley guys out there, but when you start draggin hard parts!!![This message has been edited by BobbyG (edited October 10, 2005).] IP: Logged |

Road King Classic's have just about the worst cornering clearance of any HD. I had and Ultra Classic as a demo for a couple months, and you could actually ride that relatively hard, especially with the rear shocks pumped up to max pressure....Now, if his body position had been correct, with the appropriate stripper shoes.............:-) ------------------ Barry 03 CBR600RR Repsol Replica 00 Ducati 748S 57A

I'll bet his leathers held up real well too.Seeing as how they were tucked safely away in his saddlebags. ------------------ Bill H. Nesba #377 Int. 1999 Duc 900SS 2002 Duc 750SS IP: Logged |

I Own and ride a Harley and laughed at these pics. Hate to say it but I do not fit the Harley mold, don't smoke, drink, wear full protective gear, and have put 20k miles on the bike in under two years. I actually raised my bike 1 inch for better ground clearance also. Also hate chrome!IP: Logged |

I ride a Harley on the street, I wave. Failure to waive (something lots of BMW and sport bike riders fail to do as well) is insecurity.Incidently, when I rented a HD to attend the MotoGP races, I spent a day riding down HW1 to Heast Manson. Had a couple sport riders fail to keep up with my rental FLH. Its not the bike.

well, if smiling at that pic makes you a bad person, then tag me right now!!!i dont, however, only blame harley guys, alot of them wave to me. When i get another rider who doesnt wave, i usually think that they are very very new to the sport/hobby or they are just butt-holes... I dont, however, wave to scooters...thats just wrong ------------------ #508 up and coming B'er 2001 Yamaha R6 street/track 1997 CBR F3 track-only Now if i could only get up to 2 track-days a month...how much faster i could be IP: Logged |

I personally wave to every motocylist (even cops), it is just out of courtesy. Sometime I have not be able to wave back because of the riding condition. IP: Logged |

I was on a long bike trip out west this summer,4,700 miles worth and while out west I noticed EVERYBODY waived at each other and I remember thinking, this is nice,I'm not used to this being from Milwaukee. So for 6 days I got used to waving at everyone.Sure enough,I-80 heading east through Iowa,it started,or I should say, stopped.Tons of Harleys were heading to Sturgis, and of coarse,I'm waiving and not one waived back, with the possible exception of someone's wife or girlfriend riding "bitch".So now I'm back to hating those old stovepipe pieces of shit and their knucklhead riders that can't ride for shit.Never liked the term riding bitch either.Oh well,it all works out anyway cuz I was getting tired of waiving all the time anyway.I hope the guy in the photo's didn't get hurt too badly, looks like he would have a good case of rash anyway.IP: Logged |

The police around here ride harleys and actually wave back (while I was on cbr600f4, 919, sv650, cb750). I've seen all sorts of riders not recognizing another rider. I don't get it? SteveIP: Logged |

For street riding I had a 2000, Vulcan 1500 Classic for 6 seasons. Then after two seasons of track riding with NESBA on my Daytona 955i, I got sick of dragging hard parts with the Vulcan at 25mph. So I traded it in on a 06 Sprint ST. You just can't corner those big beasts and at 700-900+lbs, their hard to stop too.IP: Logged |

I ride a Fat Boy and I wave to everybody....but I don't tip her in very hard. I love cruisers and I love sportbikes. Is that so weird? Hell, I'm starting to like Nascar. Or have I gone too far? BillIP: Logged |

Here we are making fun of that nice fellow who just wanted to wave. Poor guy!It is kind of funny though. Ok, it's pretty darn funny. Alright, I'm laughing out loud. Hope he was ok and didn't lose too much skin. ------------------ Linsay 2002 GSXR 750 2000 Honda 929 #11 A Just remember, a good mechanic never blames his tools.

Hope he came out ok. I kinda feel sorry for him. It's like watching a kid get hurt after you've been telling him to quit playing with something dangerous.IP: Logged |
